Halloween Costume

We don't celebrate Halloween. But this Halloween, I am really excited.
I'm making myself a costume this year! This is the first year I'm actually going to have a costume. Hopefully I will get to wear it to a church Halloween event. And maybe trick o treating. I got the idea from here. http://www.freewebs.com/queenapailana/barrissoffee.htm

Did I mention it's going to be a Barriss Offee costume?

Barriss Offee is my favorite Old Republic Jedi, even though she gets about 10 seconds of screen time(if even.) But just look at this GORGEOUS costume. (from said link.)

I'm just making the cloak, so I don't expect it to be this good. Wish Me luck! I'll post pictures!

PS. Do you dress up for Halloween?

Comments

  1. I used to dress up for Halloween, but not anymore. Last year, I did dress up in my scrubs to give candy, though. As a kid, I would dress up as Superman and later as a vampire. Good times.

  2. HECK YES I DO!!! I'm just being a generic Padawan again this year. Your costume looks way cool, even if its just the cloak.... so are you just wearing a black dress underneath? What about the tatoos?

I prefer Aayla Secura, But Barriss is cool too. :)

  3. Oh BTW, have you explored the Padawans Guide to Star Wars Costumes? http://www.padawansguide.com/

    I've found it extremely helpful.

  4. Awesome costume! Even if it's just the cloak, that alone is so detailed and elegant. Barriss is one of my favorite female Jedi; I loved her in the Medstar duology.

Yeah, I used to trick or treat, but I suppose I've reached the age where it's become socially unacceptable.

    So sad...

three amazing--and relatively little known--psalms

So I'm reading Psalms in the Bible right now. Well, Psalms is one of the three places I read from. I'm reading the Bible all the way through and read two chapters from three places--the Old Testament, the middle of the Old Testament, and the New Testament--every day. I'm in Deuteronomy and Romans in the other sections, but in the middle I'm still right where I started from-Psalms. Cause Psalms is really really long. I was getting kind of tired of Psalms(which isn't really the right attitude to be reading the Bible in). But I realized there are some really breathtaking passages in Psalms, and I'm glad I read them. These are my three favorites: *Buck Forester on Flikr Psalm 65 This one is about God's spectacular creation. What mighty praise, O God,      belongs to you in Zion. We will fulfill our vows to you, 2       for you answer our prayers.      All of us must come to you. 3  Though we are overwhel...

Howl's Moving Castle book analysis

“I feel ill. I'm going to bed, where I may die.” ― Howl, upon having a cold. I've decided to call them "book analysis" because they're not really reviews that tell you how much I liked the book, rather,  me taking the book apart and looking at different aspects of it for my own entertainment. Read on. Also, read Howl's Moving Castle. This is the original cover of Howl's Moving Castle and I have got to say it is the UGLIEST thing I have ever seen. I like the new one much better. Ahem. First of all, I should point out that Howl's Moving Castle is a children's book. However, I like to hold all books I read to the same standard, after all, they're written by adults. I had biased expectations of Howl's Moving Castle from the start, because I kept hearing from several sources how amazing, how fantastic, how hilarious and how romantic the book was, and hearing the perfectly gorgeous soundtrack by Joe Hizazi(somethin...

Her Universe

Before I start, let me just say this. I appreciate what Ashley Eckstein is doing. It's obvious she really cares about and is enthusiastic about her line, and she's using her position to make our days(and wardrobes, apparently) a little more cheerful. However, I don't think Her Universe is the huge movement she expects it to be. The website   talks about how female SW fans have a hard time finding merchandise designed "just for us" and the trials of having to wear either "very girly stuff" or "men's stuff in small sizes."   This post from Club Jade clearly favors and is enthusiastic of Her Universe. Vivenne's comment,(the 6th) says everything more eloquently than I ever could. "However, it’s NOT our turn. We’re NOT getting what they’ve got. I STILL don’t wear Star Wars franchise stuff because there is no way I can afford Her Universe. $30 for a TEE SHIRT? No. No no no. I’ll keep buying the $9.99 shirts for g...
